What Does Effective Instruction Look Like?

Student engagement is enhanced, and academic achievement is increased when curriculum is culturally relevant (Rubel, 2017). Culturally responsive teaching methods recognize and embrace diverse student populations (Hammond, 2018). Successful classroom management strategies and instructional best practices include lessons that are student focused.  Educators that promote empathy and embrace student diversity have a greater impact on the ability to engage students.
